Bright dark red. High-toned aromas of raspberry, cedar and ripe tomato. Sweet, round and lush, with liqueur-like fruit. Could use a bit more lift and definition. Shows a bit more underlying structure than the 2000 but offers similar quality. Finishes with substantial dusty tannins.
($53) Currant, nuts and smoke on the nose. Supple, sweet and direct; fat, lush and easygoing, with good volume in the mouth. The ripe plum, dark berry and spice flavors show good verve for the vintage.
