($14) Green-gold. Fresh pear and quince scents display good precision and depth, with a fresh white flower note adding complexity. Tangy orchard fruit flavors are leavened by a gentle tangerine note and carry though a moderately long, juicy finish. An easy-going, uncomplicated style that would do well as an aperitif.
($13) Ruby-red. Spicy blackberry and kirsch aromas possess impressive purity and energy. Sweet, focused dark berry flavors express an exotic floral character, with no apparent tannins and very good depth. Finishes on a bright blackberry note, with very good length. This is an outstanding value. (Foster's Wine Estates Americas, Napa, CA)
