2005 Centennial Vineyards Verdelho Woodside New South Wales

($18) Light yellow. Vibrant citrus and green apple on the nose, with complicating white flower notes adding complexity. Juicy tangerine and bright lemon pith flavors combine to make for a very energetic drink, with bitter quinine arriving on the finish. Pure, concentrated and delicious.


2006 Centennial Vineyards Bong Bong Shiraz South Eastern Australia

($10) Light red. Spicy red berry and cherry aromas are fresh and clear-cut. The jammy strawberry and raspberry flavors verge on sweet yet display impressive clarity, with no rough edges getting in the way. Simple but utterly delicious, finishing on a sweet, juicy strawberry note, with very good length. An exceptional bargain in uncomplicated pleasure.


2004 Centennial Vineyards Shiraz/Viognier Reserve Hilltops

($30) Ruby-red. Explosively perfumed, highly expressive nose offers raspberry, boysenberry, violet and mocha. Deep, sweet dark berry flavors are brightened by zesty acidity and nicely firmed by fine-grained tannins that are absorbed by creamy blackberry and kirsch on the long, juicy finish. This is delicious right now.
