2004 Heathcote Estate Shiraz Heathcote
Inky purple. Pungent cassis, cherry and blueberry aromas are ripe but nicely focused and accented by cracked pepper and dried flowers; smells pretty Old World to me. Lush red and dark berry flavors boast impressive sweetness and depth and are framed by fine, dusty tannins. A chewy midweight with striking sweetness on the finish, which features subtle oak spice notes and excellent persistence.
