($17) Light yellow. Lime and grapefruit aromas are deepened by petrol and smoked meat notes. Firm on entry, then juicy and more pliant with air, showing vibrant citrus and green apple flavors and soft acidity. Strikes a balance of zesty citrus and riper orchard fruit flavors, and finishes bright and persistent.
($17) Green-gold. Ripe peach and poached pear on the nose, with racy minerality adding brightness. The pear note repeats on the palate, picking up exotic floral and white pepper notes. A light, chewy, somewhat restrained example of viognier, with a lingering peach quality. This represents excellent value for this often overpriced variety.
