($20; a 50/50 blend) Bright red. Vibrant redcurrant and cherry aromas, with nervy mineral and cracked pepper accents. Crisp red fruits and zesty white pepper on the palate, with no obvious tannins. Not especially complex but very refreshing, with good tangy finishing persistence.
($20) Ruby-red. Very spicy aromas of bright blueberry, boysenberry and candied plum, complicated by fresh rose and lavender. Lush and round but lively, with fresh dark berry flavors and a silky, elegant texture. Nicely expressive and energetic on the long, creamy finish. Delicious stuff.
($20; an 85/15 blend) Ruby-red. Vibrant red berries and cherry on the nose, with sexy floral and baking spice notes adding interest. Crisp, mineral-accented strawberry and bitter cherry flavors are gently firmed by bracing acidity. Lingering flavors of tangy red fruits on the aftertaste. An admirably restrained blend, perhaps due to the fact that the cabernet came from the cool Clare Valley. (Vine Street Imports, Philadelphia, PA)
