2006 Marques de Caceres Rioja Blanco
($9) Bright straw. Fresh citrus on the nose, with an exotic curry accent. Racy lemon and pink grapefruit flavors show good depth and energy, finishing brisk and nervy. Delicious and very easy to drink.
2006 Marques de Caceres Rioja Rosado
($10) Orange-pink. Dried red berry aromas are brightened by orange zest and anise. Crisp, dry and focused, with bright redcurrant and more tangy cranberry flavors. Finishes on a grown-up, dry note, with very good length.
2001 Marques de Caceres Reserva Rioja
($20) Medium red. Musky red berry and cherry scents, with exotic orange peel and dried flowers adding complexity. Firm, slightly dry cherry and cocoa flavors display a wound-up personality and are a bit light. Finishes dry, with moderate depth. Will this flesh out?
