2004 Pago de Carraovejas Ribera del Duero Crianza

2003 Pago de Carraovejas Ribera del Duero Reserva

($80) Deep ruby. Ripe cherry and plum aromas are deepened by exotic oak spices and suggestions of cured tobacco, licorice and roasted coffee. Big, velvety and deep in dark berry and plum preserve flavor, with sweet vanillin oak and mocha accents gently supported by substantial but sweet tannins. The impressively long finish features a ripe cherry note. A distinctly warm and very ripe style which fans of the type may well rate even higher than I did. (Kysela Pere et Fils, Winchester, VA)
