2006 Bodegas Silvano Garcia Vina Honda Tinto Jumilla

($12; 60% monastrell, 20% tempranillo and 10% each of syrah and merlot) Bright purple. Intensely floral aromas of vibrant cassis and blackberry and bright minerality. Light-bodied and fresh, with crisp, primal dark berry flavors and a fresh jolt of acidity carrying through the finish. Picks up a faintly bitter note with air. I like the balance here.

2006 Bodegas Silvano Garcia Dulce Moscatel Jumilla (500 ml)

($24; for 500 ml.) Medium gold. Intensely aromatic bouquet emphasizes apricot, peach, passionfruit and rose oil, with a spicy undercurrent adding energy. Lush and creamy but firm, showing dried pit fruit and floral pastille elements and a touch of heat on the back. Serve this exotic nectar with blue cheeses.

2006 Bodegas Silvano Garcia Dulce Monastrell Jumilla (500 ml)

($24; for 500 ml.) Inky ruby. Luscious blueberry, plum preserve and sultana raisin aromas offer impressive clarity and depth. Oily and deep in dark berry flavors, with slow-building acidity providing focus and freshness. Closes on a gentle note, with velvety blueberry and blackberry carrying through the finish.
