Clinton Wine & Spirits' latest hidden gem is a highly-rated premium wine from Spain's Emilio Moro family, and it's on sale at less that half its regular price. The 2006 Cepa 21 Ribera del Duero was vinted from 100% Tinto Fino, the local clone of Tempranillo, and was aged 14 months in French and American oak barrels. This wine features fresh berry and cherry fruit, backed by sweet vanilla oak, light, firm tannins and lively acidity, and can be enjoyed over the next 5-7 years. It was rated 92 points by Steven Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, accompanied by the following review:
" Bright ruby color. Intensely spicy aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry and incense. Juicy and fresh, with vibrant red berry preserve flavors, silky texture and good mineral bite. Reminded me of a serious New World pinot noir. Finishes with excellent tangy persistence and a strong echo of red berries. This stylish wine is made by the Emilio Moro family."
