Strolling thru downtown Annapolis for Midnight Madness shopping, everyone was enjoying hot cocoa or white wines ... it's so difficult to find red wine servers (I think no one wants us to spill it and stain something, but the cocoa would stain!). Anyway ... Main Street was bustling, and the little store that does UPS and groceries and wine and a little bit of everything was serving Boordy, my favorite! And it wasn't just my sangria -- they had wassail, which was wonderful! First, he served it warm. Yummy. On a cold night, it's a great wine. Then I tried it cool; just as yummy. Then I bought what they had . . . and we spent the holiday season drinking it :). The main man of the house thinks it is too sweet for his liking, so off I went to get him something dry. This wassail, however, is wonderful. FOr a party, I served it warm in a crock pot with cloves and fresh fruit floating in it; using a strainer, of course, for serving. Everyone raved! Try it soon.
