2007 Ratzenberger Bacharacher Wolfshohle Riesling Spatlese
|
Merchant Reviews The Ratzenberger family moved to the Mittelrhein from East Germany in the fifties, and young Jochen Ratzenberger first began to make wine in 1994. His 8-hectare estate, west and north of the town of Bacharach, is comprised of three steep vineyards of blue-black Devon slate (Steeger St. Jost, Posten, Wolfshöhle). This 2007 of a traditional lieblisch spätlese offers very compellingly developed aromas of dried fruit, stone and spice harmoniously integrated in a plush palate supported by bright acidity and a creamy texture. -- Greg Moore, Moore Brothers Wine Company, September 5, 2008
