| Ampelidae, in Marigny-Brizay, is near the ancient city of Potiers in the Vienne Department, roughly an hour's drive southwest of Tours. The father, Christian Brochet along with his son, Frédéric in the winery and Daniel Patour in the vineyards do the heavy work. Most of the farming is organic and yields are far below the norm for this region. With one exception (Marigny-Neuf Sauvignon), the fruit is hand-harvested and sorted before fermentation in steel. On some of the wines there is barrel aging, a mix of new and older barrique. |
