 On April 12, 2002 Moore Brothers received a fax from Klaus Peter Keller (photo), announcing news from the golden hills of the Wonnegau in the southern Rheinhessen. Weingut Keller had just received the 2002 VinItaly International Award (previous winners: Robert Mondavi, Vega Sicilia, and Château Margaux). That this unique, prestigious award was given to a German winery is remarkable enough. That more famous estates like Müller-Catoir, Egon Müller, and J.J.
