| Dominique Roger is a a quiet, yet enormously gifted winemaker. Dominique lost his father at an early age, and when he spoke of his father, he speaks of the family's vineyards, and his eyes relay the enormous connection he somehow still feels for his father through the land. Roger is a manic viticulturalist, who by May, sports a perpetual work tan. He is one of the 'vrai'-a member of a very small circle of 'true' winemakers in France. Dominique's interest in profit is limited to his need to invest in better machinery, a pneumatic press, and new barrels for his prized Pinot Noir. His pride in his village, his vineyards, and his family is irrepressible, and he produces some of the most age-worthy, complex white wines of the Loire Valley. |
