Pinot Noir grown within the Meursault commune adjacent to Volnay becomes wine called Volnay-Santenots. Here limestone and red oolite form a unique soil combination that gives birth to wines of finesse and breed, capable of long aging as they are supported by fresh acidity and spice.
Ampeau's Volnay Santenots, typically so fresh and unspoiled with their fragrant, supple red berry fruit, retain a certain youthful character throughout their development.
