 Château Haut-Ballet is situated in the heart of the right bank, just west of Libourne, on the limestone and sandstone rich hills 80 meters above the Dordogne. Olivier Decelle, who had recently acquired Mas Amiel in the Roussillon, purchased the estate in 2000; he has invested heavily in the vineyard and the winery, and has introduced biodynamic methods of viticulture. The wine is classically structured, with mature, ripe tannins and beautiful, ripe, red fruit. This tiny estate produces fewer than 1800 cases. |
