2006 Domaine Andre Bonhomme Vire-Clesse
|
Merchant Reviews André Bonhomme is one of the most highly respected growers anywhere in Burgundy. His commitment to quality was recognized by the I.N.A.O. when his own standards were applied as the rules governing the new appellation Viré-Clessé. The regulations limit yields to 55 hectoliter/hectare, and residual sugar to 3 grams or less per liter--standards that Bonhomme has always exceeded. Rigorous bunch selection in the vineyard, extremely attentive vinification, and judicious use of barrels (about one third of this cuvée is aged in oak) results in floral, silky, well-balanced wine, that combines intense mineral scents with luscious ripeness. -- Greg Moore, Moore Brothers Wine Company, February 21, 2009
