2007 Montori Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
|
Merchant Reviews Camillo Montori's appreciation of the history and traditions of Abruzzo is apparent in everything he does. His winery houses a museum dedicated to agricultural and winemaking equipment from the southern Adriatic, and he is helping to restore a 17th century monastery-shuttered and forgotten for decades-in his hometown of Controguerra. Montori produces a classic Montepulciano d'Abruzzo--spicy red berry fruit with mellow tannins and an almondy background. Enjoy it with hearty pastas, lasagna, and grilled meats. Montepulciano d'Abruzzo partners well with spicy fare and is a perfect pizza wine. -- Frank Splane, Moore Brothers Wine Company, December 13, 2008
