2008 Corzano e Paterno Il Corzano Rosso Toscano
|
Merchant Reviews Fattoria Corzano e Paterno is a unique, family-run farm that was established in 1973 by Wendle Gelpke and his extended family. Farming includes vines, olives, and sheep. All three produce some of Europe's finest examples of wine, olive oil, and cheeses.
Aljosha Goldschmidt, Wendle's nephew, directs the winegrowing and production, on this estate that lies within the old Chianti di San Pancrazio, just outside of San Casciano.
The tiny bottlings of Il Corzano are produced from a careful selection of old-vine Sangiovese with a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon to make a powerful as well as elegant Tuscan wine. -- Brian Healy, Moore Brothers Wine Company, December 31, 2012
