2012 Corzano e Paterno Corzanello Rosato

Merchant Reviews
Fattoria Corzano e Paterno is a unique, family-run farm that was established in 1973 by Wendle Gelpke and his extended family. Farming includes vines, olives, and sheep. All three produce some of Europe's finest examples of wine, olive oil, and cheeses. Aljosha Goldschmidt, Wendle's nephew, directs the winegrowing and production, on this estate that lies within the old Chianti di San Pancrazio, just outside of San Casciano. Corzanello Rosato is dry, crisp, fresh, aromatic and medium-bodied (a perfect pairing for the cheeses Aljosha's wife produces from the sheep). Composed of Sangiovese and Merlot, this vibrant wine complements white-fleshed fish, crab, pasta dishes and hors d'oeurvres.
