| Sergio Germano is the third generation to farm the family vines in the town of Serralunga in Barolo. Until he took over, the family sold most of its fruit to the local cooperative. Since 1993 all of the production has been estate bottled. His vineyards include some of the oldest Nebbiolo in the the Prapo and Cerretta vineyards as well as old vine Dolcetto. Sergio is a traditional producer of DOC Barolo, but also has small plantings of Chardonnay, Riesling and Merlot which produce small amounts of his limited, proprietary bottlings, Balàu and Binel. |
