Paitin di Pasquero Elia
Giovanni and Silvano Pasquero-Elia are the inheritors of a winemaking tradition going back 7 generations. The estate, located entirely in Serraboella south and east of Neive, was purchased in 1796 and has been selling wine labeled Barbaresco since 1893. Currently the family farms 42 acres planted to Nebbiolo (for the Barbaresco), Barbera, and Dolcetto, along with tiny plots of Cabernet Sauvignon and Arneis.
The current patriarch, Secondo Pasquero Elia (shown in the photo), replanted all the vineyards in the mid-fifties, and bottled the first estate wines in 1964
"Paitin" wines are recognized as the standard in Barbaresco.
