(made from 90% chardonnay and 10% pinot noir; half of the wine is from 2009 and the balance from 2008, 2007, 2006, 2004 and 2002; disgorged July, 2012): Pale yellow. Highly perfumed aromas of tangerine, pear, white flowers and ginger. Silky and focused on the palate, offering vibrant orchard and citrus fruit flavors that gain flesh and weight with air. Shows a seamless texture and finishes long, with clinging pear and honeysuckle qualities.
Pale gold. Smoke and mineral notes on the nose, along with lemon, tangerine and floral honey. Supple and fine-grained, with solid citrus and pear flavors accented by a subtle note of smoked meat. Finishes on a firm note of dried apple.
