(includes a lot of declassified grapes): Medium red. Red berries and exotic spices on the nose. Supple and fruit-driven, with spice and loam notes adding complexity. Nicely pure pinot with good acidity and cut. Capiaux uses very little oak for his basic pinot bottling. He's now big on 350-liter barrels but normally breaks them in on his single-vineyard wines.
