Backward, tight nose hints at black fruits, pepper, fresh herbs and spices. Beefy and rather powerful but slow to unfold, with a slightly tart quality and firm acidity dominating the wine today. Very young and unevolved but there's very good texture here. This will need at least three or four years to reveal its personality. There was less problem with sunburned grapes down here, noted Capiaux, but it's a warmer vineyard to begin with.
