Getting better all the time

First tasted this wine upon release while enjoying the tasting tour at the winery (compliments of Wine Access and my purchase of the 2007 Cimarossa). I was impressed then; the tannins were noticeable but welcome as the wine cut through the rich lunch offerings of cheese, meats, olive oil (the best I've ever had), olives and breads. Fast forward many months: Opened a bottle the other night at home; splash decanted an hour before dinner. Tannins still present and still welcome given the prime beef served. However, the mountain fruit and character are now making their presence felt. First glass was initially tight, but softened. As the evening went on, the wine came alive. Two days later, the rest of the bottle went down even more smoothly. I probably won't open another one for at least a year since bottle age will only help. Overall, I am very impressed with the complete Cimarossa lineup and am glad I bought as much as I did at the winery and from Wine Access.
Class in a bottle.......

9-29-13 at home......First of 4 private bottles.....some prior to a rib eye and lobster dinner, some during, and just a little left for after. Cracked the bottle open at 3:30, decanted.....wonderful at 7pm.......absolutely orgasmic at 8. Dense, complex and well structured. You drink slowly, small sips, roll it around for awhile, then swallow. Repeat over and over until the bottle is gone.
Medium bodies cab drinkable from the bottle.

Coma rosa is enjoyable, though not my very favorite cab. Gentle, fruity, medium bodied, drinks easy. Ok.
