(ID 212020; LLSNRK): Light onion skin color. Fresh pear, strawberry and white peach scents are sharpened by notes of orange pith and smoky minerality. Juicy, tightly wound orchard and red fruit flavors show a refreshingly bitter quality and pick up weight and spiciness with air. Shows excellent clarity and power on the finish, which echoes the mineral and orange notes. Seems quite young now but highly promising.
Pale pink with an amber rim and a strong mousse. Potent redcurrant, cherry and blood orange aromas are complicated by cured meat, smoky minerals and floral oils; an exotic potpourri quality emerged with air. Medium-weight, chewy red fruit flavors show palate-staining depth, with nervy minerality gaining power on the back end. Finishes with outstanding juicy persistence, terrific energy and impressive cling.

Very pale rose gold color. Incredible high-pitched nose combines strawberry, iodine, cinnamon, rose petal, minerals and earth. Almost painfully intense in the mouth, with a brilliant kernel of spicy fruit and pure minerally soil tones. With its bracing acids, this is distinctly austere today, yet the texture is remarkably fine-grained and there's great sweetness of fruit lurking. An essence of iodiney soil character; like a hypothetical blend of a great Montrachet and a Gevrey-Chambertin grand cru. I hesitate to score this rose even higher than Krug's great 1990 Clos du Mesnil, but this was the best bottle of Champagne I tasted this fall.
