(50% chardonnay, 30% pinot noir and 20% pinot meunier; L8627211): Light gold. Ripe yellow plum and dried pear on the intensely perfumed nose, with complicating notes of white flowers and chalk. Silky, concentrated, sappy citrus and orchard fruit flavors and notes of dusty minerals, anise and honey. The tangy finish shows a refreshingly bitter quality and clings with very good spiciness and length.
Light yellow. Spicy lemon and lime aromas are complicated by ginger and talc, with a suave floral quality gaining strength in the glass. Fresh and energetic, offering racy citrus and pear flavors that are strikingly pure and mineral-driven. One of the brightest and most lithe examples of this cuvee that I've had in recent years and reminiscent of the elegant versions I remember from the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Subtle aroma of baking spices. Frothy, ripe and easygoing, with supple flavors of pear, apple and spice and a slight dry edge. Finishes with moderate length and a hint of alcoholic dryness.
