Smoky aromas of baked bread, nuts, caramel, earth and mushroom. Big, toasty and full; shows a slight sweet/sour disjointedness but its round, silky texture makes it very easy to drink. Doesn't have quite the vibrancy or complexity for 90 points, but this rather suave wine boasts very good precision of flavor and a subtle, dry finish.

why pay so much more for the other labels? this is the best champagne for the price, hands down.

Unbeatable value! The best Champagne I had in a long time. I used it during all the Hollidays. Just great!!

Love this champagne. I rated it 4 instead of 5 stars only because i am not dead yet and i have more to try.

Wonderful value for the price. Even reserve label choices available. I, too cannot get it in my hometwon although I can pay much more for something comparable; so I travel 60 miles to purchase mine.

Last year decided to "move up" to a better champagne and tried the Montaudon. Now my family won't accept a lesser choice.

4.0 of 5 Stars Excellent Value

Bone dry and full of life! Price/value ratio is off the scale! Not a wine for one who likes a sweeter style.
4.0 of 5 Stars Christmas case
By sydjh, February 08, 2003
Had a case for christmas brunch. Much better than what we've had in the $15 - $17 range, which is what we paid for it on sale. If you can find it at this price, go for it.
4.0 of 5 Stars Made me love Champagne
By pvh_spidey, February 13, 2002
I can't get it here in Connecticut, but when I travel to a place that has it I always come home with a few bottles. You can keep the rest, for price and taste I'll take this one. Send all of your unfinished bottles to my table.
3.0 of 5 Stars Dishonest
By Mataro, December 09, 2001
Decent Champagne, especially for the price. However, the 'neck talker' on the bottle claimed it was rated a '92' by WS. I bought it for that reason alone. It did not taste like an "A" class champagne, so I went into WS database and found out the rating was from a shipment THREE years ago!!! The price is fair, it is a decent champagne, nice buttery notes, maybe a little biscuit or nutty note, touch of fruit - but I will never buy it again due their dishonesty. That is just dirty pool, my friend. Caveat Emptor.
