Merchant Reviews This was one of our favorite wines to sell in 2005 - a great price and top quality all around. The Snowden Family has grown grapes for decades and has sold fruit to Stag's Leap Wine Cellars, Silver Oak, Frank Family, Livingston Moffett, Vine Cliff, Viader and Caymus. 2001 Snowden Estate Cabernet Sauvignon got a 92 - 94 rating from the Wine Spectator: Black/purple opaque color, big and chunky with predominant flavors of toffee, mocha and creamy toasty oak. The fruit profile is black currant and black cherry, possessing a solid core of dusty tannin which leads me to believe this wine will be one of the longest lived of the vintage. It has a concentrated spicy finish that seems to go on forever. If you like big spicy Cabs with lots of Rutherford Dust this is the one for you. 1,501 cases made. -- January 10, 2006
