Does Aging Help?
By Lambert12507817, October 05, 2007
Reading over the existing reviews of the 86 Talbot seemed to dramatically show the effects of aging on Boudeaux wines. On October 3rd, 2007, my wife and I shared a bottle of the 86 Talbot. I bought two cases of this wine way back and have been sampling them over the past few years. None had impressed us. However, this one was magnificent - as good as any Bordeaux I have ever had and I have had a few. So, had it finally reached its peak or was it just bottle variation? I can't wait to try another and see.

This was probably the best cab/cab blend I've had. I know Robert Parker gave it a 96. It deserved it. (Lots of tannin.)
past its peak

I've had this wine 3 times within the last year, and while it was very good, it's now going down. don't let it breathe too much if you have one.
