Good medium red. Initially restrained nose opened slowly to reveal black cherry, currant, licorice and a hint of truffle. Creamy-sweet, suave and fine-grained, with noteworthy verve to the flavors of black cherry, licorice and spices. Finishes with supple tannins and excellent subtle length. Very nicely balanced but in an opulent style for this cuvee, which has been remarkably consistent in quality through the years.
