Domaine des Terres Dorées
Jean Paul-Brun is the winemaker and owner at this 40-acre family estate in Charnay, just north of Lyons. One of the top producers in the southern Beaujolais region, Domaine des Terres Dorees makes a number of Gamay bottlings, a Chardonnay and a Sparkling Rose. Eschewing the mass production techniques prevalent throughout the Beaujolais, Paul-Brun opts to de-stem and crush grapes manually rather than use carbonic maceration, fermenting only with indigenous, not commercial, yeast. These naturally made wines could be called 'pretty', with low alcohol and great purity of fruit. In our experience, the nouveau is deliciously light and the vibrant Beaujolais blanc displays excellent minerality and cut.

About Beaujolais

Made from the Gamay grape, the red wines of Beaujolais are mostly exuberantly fruity and brisk wines that are often served lightly chilled for added refreshment.
