Chateau Malescot St. Exupery
What started as a tiny, 7 hectare plot in Margaux has been expanded to almost 24 hectares, planted to 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. Roger Zuger's grandson, Jean-Luc Zuger, is now winemaker at Chateau Malescot St. Exupery. He has ushered in a modern style of wines which are deeply colored, silky and sweet, if not downright voluptuous, with low acidity but plenty of ripe tannins for aging. Production here totals 13,500 cases of the eponymous Grand Vin and another 3,500 cases of the second wine, La Dame de Malescot.
