89 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - January/February 2001

Full medium ruby. Smoky aroma of black raspberry, mocha and fresh pepper. Dense and supple but juicy; more serious than past bottlings of this wine, thanks to the inclusion of the Viaillere juice. Peppery, youthful and still fairly tight, with a firm tannic spine. This will age well. Here the alcohol is a much more typical 12.7%.
