Clove, cured meat and honeysuckle on the nose. Good depth of flavor and balancing acids; the spice and cured meat notes echo in the mouth. Chewy for a basic gewürztraminer bottling. In 1997, says Ehrhart, the gewürztraminers generally integrated their richness more successfully than the tokays, which have a tendency to be alcoholic, and the rieslings, which are often overly powerful and lacking in finesse.
