90-93 Points | International Wine Cellar , November/December 1998

Deep ruby to the rim. Black raspberry, minerals, licorice, toffee and a hint of medicinal austerity on the nose. Sweeter in the mouth than the last wine, with dark berry, mineral and toffee flavors and more extract to support the wine's strict tannic spine. But quite backward and a bit tough today. This will need significant bottle aging.
