1998 Gaja Nebbiolo Sperss Langhe

Gaja now labels his former single-vineyard Barbarescos and Barolos simply as Nebbiolo Langhe Rosso (along with the proprietary names known to well-heeled clients around the world), as he wanted to be free to include a small percentage of Barbera in his wines in years with low acidity. Gaja also makes a superb and rare-for-the-region Cabernet Sauvignon called Darmagi, not to mention a rich, multidimensional Chardonnay called Gaia & Rey. Gaja is undeniably the leading light in Piedmont.
