Good healthy full red. Superripe aromas of plum, blackberry liqueur, tar and flowers. Impressively dense and sweet, with liqueur-like strawberry and raspberry fruit. Very round and smooth, but with firm supporting acidity and huge, palate-coating but fine tannins. Late hint of mint on the long back end. A superb vintage for this bottling.

this might be a perfect wine. medium to dark ruby. Heavy with a magma-thick body, smoky cassis, soaring fruit and floral elements, little rushes of mineral. The finish is long and haunting. Needs time. 96(+) POINTS. 12-22-2000
