Bright medium ruby. Spicy aromas of roasted red fruits and black cherry, leather and fresh herbs; comes across as cooler than the Renaissance bottling. Less sweet and giving in the mouth; tougher and more severe than the young-vines version. Flavors of leather, licorice and herbs. Tannins spread over the entire palate. This will need a good seven or eight years of patience.
