($65) Warmer on the nose than the Chaillees de l'Enfer, with a distinct mineral component brightening the apricot fruit. Thick, nutty and very rich, with the wine's impressive structure buffering the impression of sweet, ripe fruit. Very long and firm on the back end. This really needs a year or two of additional bottle aging, and should age well. I've never yet tasted viognier with this combination of mineral character, fruit aromas and sheer structure and grip outside Condrieu.
