88(+?) Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - March/April 1998

Deep ruby-red. Pungent, nobly rustic aromas of currant, minerals, coffee, oak spice and hot stones, plus a superripe hint of raisin. Rich, supple and sweet, but currently a bit clenched; youthful, port-like flavors. Finishes with dusty, deep tannins. A substantial Cabernet-based wine with considerable aging potential.
