I was served this in La Carbonera in Rome where the waiter told us to put away our taste for Santa Cristina and enjoy. Was he ever right! No need to spend more on wine .....My Favorite...Try the gold too but it costs 2x as much.

I couldn't agree more with Lilybug. The 1999 Ruffino is my all time favorite wine. I also try to sample red wines of various types but keep returning to the Ruffino for the consistency. This is an excellent wine to share with friends. It drinks well with virtually any meal or as a stand alone wine during cocktail hour.

This is my absolute favorite wine ... of any variety. I am always buying and trying new red wines but I find that I always come back to this and when I share it with fellow red wine drinkers, they also rave about it. I'd like to keep some for the future, but I keep opening it!

This wine is mass produced. You can find it almost anywhere. That is a good and bad thing. I personally love this wine. Not my total favorite, but excellent none the less. Floral, bursting with flavor, smooth finish, all the things a good CCR should be.

Nothing amazing here. I'm willing to bet the people who find this wine AMAZING haven't really tasted other producers - Montemaggio, Massanera. Ruffino is OK, but it's kind of like the Wonder Bread of Tuscany.

This wine taste too much like a massed produced wine. There is nothing special about it and it has a very generic taste. Not a good buy for the price
