($33) Bright dark red. Aromas of cherry, tobacco, dark chocolate and roasted herbs, with some tarry, charred oak. Supple but firm-edged flavors of red berries and tobacco leaf; initially a bit grapey in the middle but opened nicely with aeration to show moderate sweetness and riper fruit flavors. Finishes with fine, dusty tannins and good length.
