Bright, deep, opaque ruby. Subtle, brooding aromas of blackberry, violet and pepper. Extraordinarily concentrated, superripe, essence-of-berry flavors border on painful today. This has really uncanny intensity. The explosive fruit blows past the substantial tannins on the finish. Wow!

This was an excellent wine. Of the wines I've had, it tasted most similar to D'Arenberg "The Dead Arm" Shiraz, which is a bit more expensive in America. Deep, dark, fruit. Thick, textured, layered, almost viscous, fluid. Still, this was a very good bottle for the $50 I paid, but is not unusually good for its high retail price. It is not worth the twice-retail price it can get at auction. Along with a few other wines I've mentioned, this wine occupies a class somewhere in between 4 and 5 stars.
