More About This Wine
About Domaine Francois Raveneau
Named for its original proprietor, who, sadly, left us in 2000, Domaine Francois Raveneau is a goliath in Chablis. Raveneau's two sons, Bernard & Jean-Marc, now continue the family tradition, maintaining a commitment to natural wine.
2000 Domaine Francois Raveneau Chablis Montee de Tonnerre
Producer: Domaine Francois Raveneau
Style: White Wine
Grape Type: Chardonnay
Origin: France
Region: Burgundy
Appellation: Chablis
92 Points | International Wine Cellar , July/August 2002
( bottled in November; 2 of the domain 7.5 hectares are in this premier cru) Deep, complex nose melds grapefruit, powdered stone, apple and mint. A step up in concentration and texture from the foregoing premier crus. Thick, suave and seamless; dry, classy and rich. Finishes very long, with a flavor of wet stone. Will be a superb bottle.
