A nice Cabernet at a decent price. I found it to be a good food wine. Enjoyed it with some ground chuck hamburgers.
2007 Knights Valley

Paid $15 for this wine thinking it must be inferior to its $20+ predecessors. Nope, for the price: delicious, smooth, ripe wine. Tasted well older than its 3 yrs. Very mellow tannins. Needed no decanting. Not a powerhouse, very pleasant.
Reference Cab

The 2006 Knight's Valley continues Beringer's long run of producing, what I call, a "Reference Cabernet". It always is very polished, clean and full of Cab characteristics. Black cherry and cedar greet the nose, followed by leather, berries and a hint of graphite on the palate. The finish is clean with well intergrated tannins. One suggestion is, decant and let it breath for an hour or so. This is, IMO, what a decent California Cabernet should taste like. 4.5 stars.
Full bodied

There is a distict flavor to the Knights Valley area wines and this one is a real winner. Allow time for wine to open and enjoy complex flavors that emerge. This is a full flavor wine.
Excellent table wine

Wonderfully rich, full and complex taste. I can't provide all of the "taste's like" listings other than it is quite good. Great on its own, with any good cheese (Stilton comes to mind) or with any beef.

Powerful consumer interest in California wine is driven by two major factors. The more obvious reason is that California's best wines, which come from grapes grown in...

Varietal Image
Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon built its reputation on Bordeaux's Left Bank. Here, in the district of Medoc, the varietal is the key component of blended wines that also may include some Merlot and Cabernet Franc, and even Malbec and Petit Verdot. Moving slightly south, Cabernet Sauvignon meets Merlot in roughly equal proportions in the red wines of Graves. In both of these Bordeaux regions, the top bottles...
