This should be a $20 wine
The 2010 merlot is absolutely wonderful. I was visiting friends in Florida and had the merlot at their home. It was so good I went to the local wine store and bought a case. I hardly ever buy wine by the case but because I was in Florida I didn't want to chance not finding it when I returned to Ohio. Now I have the opertunity to by it on line and I will stock up.
Found this 2007 vintage on sale in NY for 5.99 . 750 ml with a $2.00 / bottle rebate good till 9/30/09 that's 3.99 / bottle baby ..Bought 6 cases Hello
My wife & I loved it. We first tried it at a restraunt & had to add it to our home stock. Our other favorite Merlot is Beringer's Stone Cellar.
cheap but good
cheap but good, fruity, good to have a bottle lying around, for everyday consumption.
Not a merlot fan, but...
This won me over. Full berry fruit and spicy; nice accompaniment to beef. Not a typical merlot. Have tried other Blackstone wines and they are all good. I would definitely recommend this wine.
backbone of its business, and one of its best bottlings, is still talented winemaker Dennis Hills lightly smoky, plummy Merlot.
2004 Blackstone Merlot - Worth every penny !
If you are looking for a nice Merlot for under $10 with character and explosive flavors, look no further. I will readily admit, this one has a little extra spice in the finish, but it is smooth, has great color paired very well with the Cajun Shrimp it was served with. I like it so much that I went back and bought (6) more bottles to have on hand for the Summer!
I'm not sure that this tastes even slightly like a Merlot. With that said, this is a delicious, full bodied red with plenty of fruit to spare! My favorite red right now (possibly in the last decade) under $10.
Great every day wine.
Good nose, plenty of fruit flavor. Great with grilled meats.
This wine has a fantastic flavor, it is my favorite wind for under $10. The Blackstone Merlot Napa Valley is just a little smoother, and is another good wine to try.
A GOOD MERLOT
The first glass had some acidity but settled down quickly..This is a good inexpensive choice with food but not a sipping wine..
Good for an every day Merlot but not quiet good enough for a party.
Inexpensive, Fairly Decent. Would buy again.
I bought this wine while bargain hunting. It serves its purpose, but don't think you'll get an evening's worth of flavorful joy without the help of food. I had a glass with my meal and the wine was a fairly full flavored deep ruby merlot, with hints of chocolate and coffee. Another glass after dinner was less enjoyable because of an overarching coffee flavor.
For the under $10 price this wine is good enough to buy again. Nothing for the cellar, but good for a weeknight.
Best Merlot for the buck I have found. Full of flavor.

Upon advice we tried this one and found that first glass was full bodied (almost a bit more than we like for a merlot more almost like a zin). 2nd Glass towads mid dinner and it wasn't nearly as good. Perhaps at best a back-up for a party but not good enough to make the nightly grade at your table.
