Great Wine, Great Value!

I first had this lovely wine at my favorite restaurant about 2 years ago. The wonderful full body of this vintage along with the very reasonable price surprised me. It has since become my favorite wine, and I have introduced all my friends to it. Whenever I go anywhere that requires a good cab, I always take J.Lohr 7 Oaks!
Amazing Cab for the price

This reminds me of the Sterling Cab from Napa.. It's smooth taste fools you into believing it's a Merlot mixed with Cab Franc.. Quite deceiving and extra delish!
My Favorite

This is my all-time favorite Cab when we want to bump it up a notch at home from our everyday wine...Very smooth, with rich blackberry undertones and full bodied...Yum!!!

I have been buying this wine for 8 years and is consistently better than most $20/bottle Cabs. A great crowd pleaser.

It doesnt get better than this wonderful cab for 10 bucks (by the case) per bottle. This wine, for the price, ROCKS!!!!

Best cab for the price

I've have seen this wine in the store on many occasions. I don't buy it often b/c my father in law buys it by the case(s). Full bodied, brick colored cab with a smoth, pleasing finish. Goes well with just about anything, but mainly steaks and red sauced dishes. Worth the $10 per bottle price. Highly recommended.

Let it breathe - a lot.
Wonderful fullness and flavor, with gentle tannins.
However, the taste is a little sharp, not friendly.

2009 - Cherry and other dark fruit. Tannins are perfect. Nice for the price and better than many more expensive.

I was very surprised by this wine. It's a very great Cab for 12 bones. It's a full bodied wine with dark color and fruit (Dark cherry, Black current). I plan to buy a case of this wine.
Reliable very nice cabernet - good value

This has been one of my "regular" cabernets. Anytime I introduce others to it they are very pleasantly surprised. Can't go wrong with this wine. At this price point one of the safest and best choices. Better than many higher priced cabernets.
Full of flavor

This wine is slightly sweet on the tongue at first but has a nice dry finish for overall great balance. It has plenty of flavor with the most dominant being with a lot of dark cherry flavor.

Smooth, tarty, full and full of complement, this subtly sweet tangy creation is on the top of our list. Buy a bottle or two and enjoy! We've seen this wine go for 27.00$, but at Total Wine, its a steal! Thanx
A great discovery

As one who enjoys full bodied cabs; this one was overall very good but not great.I would say its a great every day easy drinking Cab at a great price, but not a special ocassion wine.
An unsually consistent mass-produced Cab!
07/09/2007
by Spearfisher
My first rating of this wine was in 07/07 and it remains an enigma: a consistently excellent, mass-produced California cab, at a very affordable price. Up-front bouquet of berries and oak, subtle spices of pepper and minerals. Medium bodied, well-balanced sugar, acidity and tanins. Great, even finish.

Had a glass at a restraunt and enjoyed. More mellow with less bit than some CABs. Appears to be a very good value at $10-12
Consistent Quality

This has been my standard everyday wine for the past 5 years. It has a consistent color, bouquet and flavor. It can be sipped as an aperitif or as a complement to a meal. I have been pleased with this selection regardless of the vintage..

No complexity. Simple straight forward fruit nose. Not going back.
